Terms of Service
Effective: 2 May 2026
These are the rules for using Lifebits. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We try to keep them short.
What Lifebits is
Lifebits lets you leave private gifts — photos, videos, voice memos, or text — at real-world locations, to be opened by the people you choose. There is no public feed; everything is person-to-person.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. You're responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
What you create
You own the content you place in Lifebits. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, transmit, and display that content for the sole purpose of delivering it to the recipients you choose. We don't claim any ownership and we don't use your content for anything else.
What you can't do
- Drop content that's illegal, sexually explicit, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful.
- Drop content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy.
- Drop content depicting minors in any sexualised context, or anything that could endanger a minor.
- Use Lifebits to harass, threaten, or stalk another person (including by leaving drops at someone's home, workplace, or anywhere they haven't consented to).
- Try to access another user's account, scrape the service, or reverse-engineer the app.
We can remove content and suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules. If you spot something abusive, you can report it from the drop's detail screen, or email hello@lifebits.app.
Service availability
We provide Lifebits "as is" without any guarantees. We may change or shut down features, and we may have downtime. We try not to break things, but we can't be liable for indirect or incidental losses (lost content, missed gifts, etc.). To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you've paid us in the past 12 months — and Lifebits is currently free, so that's $0.
Termination
You can stop using Lifebits at any time and delete your account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Changes
We'll update this page when the rules change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
